GRILL CHEF - BRISTOL - FULL TIME
We are currently recruiting for a Grill Chef to join the team at our Bristol Smokehouse. Your role as Grill chef will be to assist the Kitchen Manager is the smooth running of the kitchen, and the delivery of outstanding BBQ to our customers every time.
Bare Grills is a small independent company which formed back in 2014 where we opened our first Smokehouse in Weston Super Mare. Since then, we have added locations to Taunton & Bristol, with a few more openings planned in the coming months. We have the outdoor catering side of the business whereby we cater for private events, weddings, corporate, festivals etc.
We currently open between 12-3 / 4.30-9.45pm midweek, then all the way through (12-9.45pm) on the weekends. We have both full and part time positions available for this role, and can be flexible when it comes to your availability.
Currently, the rate of pay for this role is £10 per hour, which is subject to review following successful completion of a probation period. In addition to this, you will receive an equal share of the restaurant tips monthly.
Your role as Grill Chef will include:

Ensuring a consistently high quality of food served both in house and via our delivery platforms (UberEats)

Learning and embracing the methods involved in slow smoking meat

Ensuring adequate prep levels prior to service

Ensuring the kitchen is kept to a high level of cleanliness

Ensuring all relevant EHO paperwork is completed accurately on your shifts

Being able to remain under pressure
Given the processes involved in smoking our meat, the ability to plan ahead and forecast sales to ensure stock levels are sufficient is a must. When our meat takes 14 hours to smoke, we have to be thinking/smoking usually a day or two in advance.
The restaurant itself is relatively small (7 tables), however it gets busy, so the ability to remain calm and focused is a must. The kitchen is also open, so angry, shouty chefs need not apply as this is essentially a customer facing role.
